Overview

The Brangwynne Lab at Princeton University is currently considering highly qualified candidates interested in working as a lab technician for a new multi-institutional research project supported by the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative. The position is available immediately.

 

Position responsibilities include lab support for general molecular biology techniques such as cloning, and some aspects of lab management responsibilities. Individuals with experience in one or more of the following are encouraged to apply: cell culture, CRISPR genome editing techniques, genomics, proteomics, microscopy, model systems such as C.elegans, RNA biology; interest in quantitative approaches would also be helpful. Candidates should have at a minimum a B.S., although Ph.D. level scientists are also welcome to apply. A high level of enthusiasm for research, an interest in learning new tools and techniques, and a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team are absolutely essential.

Responsibilities

- Lab support for general molecular biology techniques such as cloning.

- Aspects of lab management responsibilities, including but not limited to, maintaining laboratory equipment and inventories of supplies, reagents and samples. Recording data and performing data analysis.

- Collaborating with other researchers in the lab.

 

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

- Doctorate

- Prior experience working in a research environment

- Individuals with experience in one or more of the following are encouraged to apply: cell culture, CRISPR genome editing techniques, genomics, proteomics, microscopy, model systems such as C.elegans, RNA biology; interest in quantitative approaches would also be helpful.

- Must be able to manage own time and prioritize tasks.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Experience with safety practices in an academic laboratory environment desired
