The Industrial Relations Section (IRS) at Princeton University is seeking a Research and Data Manager to coordinate the IRS's research activities. The IRS, established in 1922, is a research and instructional center within the Princeton Economics Department that houses approximately 40 faculty, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and visiting researchers who are carrying out research in labor economics, public policy, and related areas.
The Research and Data Manager provides both research and data systems coordination for IRS research activities involving faculty, graduate students, and research assistants. The Research and Data Manager possesses both advanced analytical research experience as well as the technical skills needed to work effectively with Linux and Windows systems administrators in IT and Research Computing. Reporting to the IRS Director with dotted line reporting to the Associate Director, this position demonstrates expertise in the design and management of research studies in economics and social sciences as well as familiarity with data acquisition, management, and storage systems. The Research and Data Manager supervises eight or more full-time predoctoral research assistants, collaborating with Economics and School for Public and International Affairs colleagues to organize professional development and enrichment activities as part of Princeton's Economics predoctoral program. This key research position serves as liaison to campus partners, such as Research Computing, Office of Research Project Administration, and the Data-Driven Social Science Initiative. In addition to supporting the research of IRS members, this position may also engage in individual research.
This is a three-year term position with the possibility of renewal.
