Overview

The Hasson Lab in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute has an opportunity available for a research assistant. The Hasson lab is part of an exciting and growing trend in neuroscience that studies the neural activity that drives human behavior under natural and realistic conditions. Among other things, the candidate will work with ECoG data and machine learning algorithms on one of our flagship projects.

 

Ideal candidates should be highly motivated, driven, and work well in a team. Candidates with a strong background in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, statistics, neuroscience, linguistics, or math, and who have experience in programing, software engineering, signal detection, and machine learning are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Preprocessing new data - a main responsibility of the applicant would be in assisting in the development of a new automated pipeline for processing simultaneous speech and brain recordings. This will include a programming side as well as extensive manual quality checks (for quality of audio processing steps such as: transcription, speaker separation, TV detection, temporal sync of audio and brain data).
  • Support existing code-base. Apply existing analysis tools Implement deep conversation models on datasets.
  • Develop new analyses - the research specialist will be encouraged to take on (supervised) development of new research directions of the natural speech and ECoG data.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Neurscience, Psychology, Computer Science, Linguistics or related field.

Preferred

  • Experience with research in the field of Computational Neuroscience, AI and Machine Learning Models.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in neuroscience, psychology computer science or related field
