The Behavioral Science for Policy Lab (BSPL), directed by Professor Elke Weber, is an interdisciplinary lab at the intersection of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, the Woodrow Wilson School for Public Policy, and the Psychology Department. BSPL brings together researchers of varied backgrounds to shed light on the psychological foundations of real-world decisions, with a focus on issues relating to energy and the environment. Our methods range from process-tracing in controlled lab and virtual-lab experiments, to field experiments in real-world settings, to using big data, and include both quantitative modeling and qualitative approaches.
The lab manager will report directly to the lab director, Professor Weber, and work closely with research group postdocs, graduate students and lab staff. The lab manager will facilitate and coordinate many aspects of BSPL research initiatives.
The desired start date for the position is June 2025. This position is ideal for someone interested in gaining more research experience before pursuing a PhD in a behavioral science field. Individuals who identify as part of a historically underrepresented group are particularly encouraged to apply.
To apply, upload both a resume and cover letter describing your qualifications for the position, relevant experience, and research interests. Applications that do not contain a cover letter will not be considered. Applicants who receive interviews will also be asked for a data analysis code sample (in R, Stata, SPSS, Python, or similar) and 2 references (with ideally at least one of these being an academic/research reference).
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the first review by mid-April.
