Overview

The Department of Psychology is looking for a Research Specialist to manage the laboratories of Professors Tania Lombrozo and Tom Griffiths. The successful applicant will handle lab administration and data management for the labs as well as interact with and help students (both graduate and undergraduate), postdoctoral fellows and other individuals who are part of the lab.

 

This is a one-year term position with the possibility (and expectation) of renewal contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory performance. As Princeton University is not an E-verified institution, OPT STEM extension for a second year or more is not eligible.

 

The target start date will be August 14, 2025, but there is some flexibility.

Responsibilities

Aspects of lab administration that the individual will be responsible for include but are not limited to the following:

  • Organizing/scheduling lab meetings and lab events
  • Onboarding incoming lab members
  • Overseeing research assistant training
  • Adhering to and monitoring adherence to human subject protocols
  • Creating and amending human subjects protocols
  • Ordering and organizing lab supplies
  • Managing lab accounts and subscriptions
  • Managing reimbursements
  • Managing subject payments
  • Maintaining lab websites
  • Updating lab-wiki documents
  • Maintaining lab networks and printers
  • Creating and maintaining paper and electronic record-keeping systems
  • Will also play a role in ongoing research projects, including helping with literature reviews, data collection and coding, and data analysis. More independent research may be possible as time permits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field.
