A Research Specialist position is available in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. The Falkner lab (https://www.falknerlab.com/) focuses on neural circuit dynamics in subcortical circuits during social behavior. We are looking for an experienced research specialist to manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including animal husbandry (e.g. assist lab members with mouse breeding) and work with the researchers to design and perform experiments. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual.
This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding availability and performance.
- manage lab operations, including:
lab protocols and recordkeeping practices
preparations for inspections (IACUC and AALAC)
- manage mouse colony
- assist researchers with experiments and data analysis
- undertake individual research projects
- other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in Neuroscience or related field plus 2+ years of wetlab experience
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with mice and running rodent behavior including animal husbandry
- Experience with methods in computational neuroscience.
- Proficient with programming in Python and/or Matlab.
