The Brangwynne lab is a team of biologists, physicists, and engineers whose primary goal is to understand the biophysical principles underlying intracellular organization. With particular interest in understanding structural organization and function (i.e. gene expression) within the cell nucleus, and the interplay between nuclear biophysics and genomic (re)programming.
The lab is seeking curious, hard-working, and innovative scientists interested in working in an exciting interdisciplinary environment. The primary responsibilities of this position will be assisting with a molecular cloning project utilizing advanced genetic engineering approaches (including lentiviral transfections, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing). This position will work in close collaboration with other lab researchers (students and postdoctoral fellows) and there will be an anticipation of co-authorship on publications resulting from the work. This scientist will play a leadership role in guiding and coordinating a project among multiple researchers, and has the potential to interface with industrial partners.
Qualified candidates will have a strong background in cell/molecular biology, experience with mammalian cell culture, and proficiency with DNA cloning and manipulation. We are also particularly interested in candidates with expertise in stem cell biology.
This is a one year term position with the expectation of renewal upon satisfactory performance review.
