The Seung Lab is looking for bright, energetic, and rad people to join our neuroscience lab as image analysts. What is key is an interest in scientific innovation and an appreciation for gaming. The Seung Lab is trying to tease apart the mysteries of neuroscience by leading the charge into connectomics. The team is using the latest techniques in artificial intelligence, computer vision, parallel computing, and crowdsourcing to map every neuron in the brain and all their connections. The successful assistant will be involved with the annotation of brain images from serial electron microscopy. The assistants will use custom computer software to assemble 3D reconstructions of neurons from fragments and then use Photoshop-style computer software to color interiors of neural cross sections in images, and color locations of synapses. A strong work experience in the field is required for this full-time position.
